Family Safaris in Tanzania

Children usually love safari, as long as the days are paced for them. That means shorter drives between parks, lodges with space to run around or a pool, and a private vehicle so you can stop when someone needs a break.

Tell us the ages of your children and we will suggest parks, accommodation and the order of the trip.

Who It Suits

  • Families with children of any age
  • Multi-generational groups
  • Families combining safari and beach

Are there age limits?

Game drives are generally fine for children. Some lodges and activities, such as walking safaris, have minimum ages. We check this for every property in your itinerary.

Health and malaria

Most safari areas and Zanzibar are malaria areas. Speak to a travel health clinic about medication suitable for your children before you travel.

Questions We Are Often Asked

Is a private vehicle recommended for families?

Yes. A private vehicle lets you set the pace, take breaks and return to the lodge early if the children are tired.

Your Safari Doesn't Have to Start With a Package.

It can start with a conversation.
